We had that problem with one of our prime movers at work several years ago. They ended up taking the tires off the rims, and putting weld across the bead of the tire.

We were running tube tires though as the tires would spin on the rim and rip the valve stem off causing a total loss of air pressure. And they were running 120 psi.

Ours are put on with the black goop from the tire shop, 7 pulls now and 3 of the back tires have moved 3/4 of and inch or less. and they moved during this pull....the rear was hookin pretty good.

My sugestion is mark the tires to wheels and see how much they are really moving

I checked MATPA, SPI, MVPPL, SNETPA, NADM, and FPP. I couldn't find anything in their rules about screws or beadlocks.

I dismounted the rear tires today. the paint on the inside of the wheel was burned off to bare metal on both wheels.

The only time I've seen beadlocks not allowed is in a street legal class as beadlocks (in most states) are not DOT approved.

For what Jesse runs it shouldn't be an issue.

Once the tires spin, they get easier to spin as some of the "bite" is removed (much like what happens to your tread in a burnout). You can try scuffing the rim and tire and hoping it holds or just go the beadlock/screw route.

I watched a video of the end of the hook my buddy took and the wheels are definetly spinning. There was tons of smoke coming off the rear wheels. It's a pretty good vid. When I get it I'll post it up.

today I found out that beadlockes weren't the answer  I spun both rear wheels again and the left rear popped off the bead. I guess I'll re mount the tires, re torque the beadlocks, and screw the inner and outer beads on both rear tires and see what that does. I ended up taking second in the open diesel class though :thumb:
