do you all think these are a bad idea for pulling/drag racing. looking to have the rear wheels and tires stick out a little more. didn't see anything in any of the rules saying you couldn't pull with them. thanks in advance.

i was thinking about putting a 2" spacer in the rear of mine but will that wear out anything quicker by pushing the tires out a little more?

For pulling I wouldn't want them. Then your back tires are chewing on the same dirt your fronts already chewed through. Leave it stock and your tires have two inches of fresh stuff to play on. Might not be a big difference but in a game where 1/100 of an inch counts, its something.

What about towing? Its either wheel spacers or a dually axle under my truck for me. I hate the tires tucked under so much.

I have towed other duramax's on bumper tow trailers with my 2" spacers without any issues, I wouldn't do it on some of the aluminum spacer available but on Fred's billet steel spacers I have no worries.

I towed another CCSB duramax from Mass to Michigan with 1.5+" aluminum spacers from Fred with zero issues and pull a 45,000lb+ transfer sled.

A high quality spacer and proper installation go a long way. This is one area you don't want to skimp on.

x2 mostly all of the big boys in pulling these days have a different track pattern by having the front and rear tires run a different track...

Yea, You really want the back wheels inwards and the fronts out, It should steer better and you will get a "cleaner" contact path for the rears as its "new" dirt instead of tracking right were the fronts did.

Why do people run spacers just on the rear of the truck? I would think they stick in a tad more than the front for a reason. I would think anyone that baught spacers would bye them for all 4 so it looks right and its still the same as stock setup just wider.

GM's (old and new) have the front end approx 3" wider than the rear. There has been debate why it was done, but when you lift them or put wider tires on IT IS MY OPINION, that it looks "weird". I bought spacers (1.5" each side in the rear) for my 1980 and for my 2006 to correct the "appearance".

For pullers (which I am), it is actually a disadvantage to run them as the tire/wheel tracks the one in front of it. I don't care as I'm all about the show and not about the go :roflmao::spit:

There are situations that require it though as I found out when I did the rear disc brake conversion on my 1980. With my 15" rims, they would no longer fit without the spacer, so it actually ended up being a necessity as it spaced the rim out far enough not to hit the caliper (unless I wanted to buy new tires and rims).

Edit: And putting spacers on the front would only add to the "rubbing issues" many experience, and you would still have the odd looking offset front to rear.

Well i pull alot at all the fairs up here in maine. And i just put bushwacker pocket style fender flares on my 03 dmax. And i was wondering whats the widest spacer i can go with when pulling. And im talking about all 4 not just the back.

ive never taken off my 2in spacers on my rig. sled pulling, (ive taken the rear off and left the fronts and it did feel more stable than usual). at the raceway and i often tow a 33ft toy hauler loaded with them. never have had a problem so far.
