Why do people run spacers just on the rear of the truck? I would think they stick in a tad more than the front for a reason. I would think anyone that baught spacers would bye them for all 4 so it looks right and its still the same as stock setup just wider.
GM's (old and new) have the front end approx 3" wider than the rear. There has been debate why it was done, but when you lift them or put wider tires on IT IS MY OPINION, that it looks "weird". I bought spacers (1.5" each side in the rear) for my 1980 and for my 2006 to correct the "appearance".
For pullers (which I am), it is actually a disadvantage to run them as the tire/wheel tracks the one in front of it. I don't care as I'm all about the show and not about the go :roflmao::spit:
There are situations that require it though as I found out when I did the rear disc brake conversion on my 1980. With my 15" rims, they would no longer fit without the spacer, so it actually ended up being a necessity as it spaced the rim out far enough not to hit the caliper (unless I wanted to buy new tires and rims).
Edit: And putting spacers on the front would only add to the "rubbing issues" many experience, and you would still have the odd looking offset front to rear.
