What's the verdict on low cost hubs/wheel bearings?

I need to replace my front bearings.

Do the low cost ones last for awhile?

Are the Timken's (at 2X the cost) worth it?

If anyone has any info on these I'd appreciate it.:thumb:

I have 40k or so on my cheap-o $110 wheel bearing. No problems, tight as new. It has a lifetime warranty so Im not worried.

So far any that I have tried outlast the GM one and for a lot less. Just get ones with the best warranties. Carquest, Oriellys, and Napa are good as you will get.

Have Orreilys house brand on mine, both sides. Replaced one and about 3,000 miles later the the other side got loose, go figure ,LOL. 5'000 miles, so far so good, they have a 1 year warranty on them. They were 160.00 with my fathers shop discount. The Timkens were 215.00 and were made in the same foreign country, go figure, probably come out of the same factory.

The only problems I've had is wheel speed sensors on any replacements I've used. If they work for more than 50 miles, they seem to last. Only had two fail and as listed up top, they became loose over a few thousand miles. I've tried GM's and get the same results. Might try the flipping coins method even if you go 2 out of 3.

My GM ones have 8 years on them I must have gotten lucky. First original ones went out at 60k though. At 150k now on second set
