So as some if you know i have had some work done on my truck lately, extensive work, some boring and tedious and some not even what the shop owner specifies in...
So now that everything is installed and in working order again whats the appropriate thank you? I mean really. We tip our witer/wiatress 20% if everything is good, so whats the appropriate tip when you spend like 7g and the guy has your rig for weeks, clearly going above and beyond, goin over it with a fine toothed comb????
Thanks for the input guys and gals

As you probably know all shops mark up their parts atleast 20% and the fact that we charge 85 or better an hour I'm sure your even with the guy or else he wouldn't be doing it! It is always nice tho to have a customer buy a couple of cases of beer to share with every one after work!!! Can't go wrong there:D

Last place I would tip is a shop..... They make sure they get their money.... Tip the guys out in the shop who do the work if your satisfied with the work!

But what do us lower beings know about having a truck that is nothing like anything else in the road. All we have is supporting mods that mean nothing.

A gift card for him to take his old lady out for a steak dinner. Who doesn't like steak? Nice that you are eager to tip in some way. OP said the shop went over and above. Attention to detail sets people apart.

word of mouth is huge for small shops that work in diesel performance. I would keep telling friends about what a great job they did, have them mention your name if they go down there. (it sometimes helps with the bill next time)

I won't even put stickers of shops or brands on my truck. Why free advertise for something you payed for. I would pay the bill and say thanks. If they actually give you stuff, or smoking deals, then do something for them.

Gift card for a steak is a good idea. I wouldn't personally do cash. Can never go wrong with beer either.
Neither of those things will be too costly and either or both will get it across that you appreciate the good service.

x2. A lot of the work i get is due to word of mouth, it means a lot to small shops, and individuals as my self. :thumb:
