Larry i hope your not serious:eek:, No offense but I think I must push the limits of my truck just alittle more than you do. I really dont trust my truck to attend 40+ truck pulls a year. Drag race about 50 1/4 mile passes a year. And then turn around and make a trip to work thats 70 miles a day....I just dont think that would be very wise of me. I usually drive the truck to every drag race and truck pull. The next big reason is SALT..Its a vehicle killer up here. I refuse to drive my truck in the salt. I hate rust!!!

Well when you put it that way it makes sense, we dont deal with salt here, and I guess I just dont pay attention to the fuel bill as its a tax write-off.:D

If i worked alot closer to home than it wouldnt be a issue. Its just hard to trust this thing to pay my bills and do all the above..Dont get me wrong i would love to drive it everyday. It would just literly eat me out of house and home with parts and fuel!

2nd the VW Jetta diesel. Sweet ride, and all the good hop up stuff to boot. Went from 90 FW hp to 138 RWHP. Nice and quick. Still run a 7.5 0-60 with 213,000 miles and busting 48-50 mpg.
With 213,000 miles:
1 water pump
one clutch
both at 212,000 miles.
Its been very reliable and will cruse 90mph all day.

Eric, good call on the Yaris. I was a toyota mechanic for 4 years before I went to Caterpillar. The yaris is a good car and should get great milage if you got a manual tranny. just keep up on your regular maintenence and she will last 200k. Whatever you do, dont ever do a top engine clean on the engine as it has been proven to burn up toyota catylitic converters.

I am still looking for a good diesel rabbit but they are damn hard to find
