Ever since the common rail diesel has come out they've been the easiest vehicle the hot Rod. I mean for 1000 bucks you can pretty much double its power output. And there really isn't a downside to doing so. No loss of economy or drivability like you would see in a gasser.

You'd be surprised what a lbz mouth piece and a turbo back exhaust will do to a lly. Add a good tow tune with turbo brake and a tap shifter and towing becomes awesome. Just watch temperatures with the lly.

Yeah I see what y'all are saying now. the only thing is; If I wanted to get something to haul ass and see how fast I can get it to roll, I'd go get a sports car to do that. But I'm not getting a sports car because it's not made to tow, a diesel is. It goes both ways.

What would y'all say would be a good tow programmer/tuner for the LLY?

Funny thing is. These trucks with the right setup can blow away a modern sports car. Get better mpg. And outlast it by thousands of miles. And tow whatever you want along the way

But certainly not for cheaper.

I bet my car and truck combined are cheaper than it would cost to get a truck to run what my car does

The guy was trying to tell you that those mods will help the longevity of the truck and make it tow better. Increased mpg and hp just happen to come along with it.
Go ahead and tow heavy often with a stock LLY. You'll be back on here wanting help with over heating issues and possible hg blown. All the mods do is help it breathe better. An ice engine is nothing but a giant air pump.

I was waiting on it.. somebody getting offended by what I said, even though I did say I don't know much about anything when it comes to tuning diesels. Did I not also clearly ask what would be a good tuner to put on the LLY? Also, if you would have read my 2nd or 3rd post, you'd see the most I'm towing is a 6500# RV, and that's maybe twice every 6 months. 3500-4000lb mostly. If 6500 is considered heavy for these trucks then I might want to stick with a half ton.

Take a chill pill, no hard feelings. I'm just giving my original thought about the subject, and the dude replied respectfully with just straight up what he had to say. Knowing that, the EFI Live might be on my list, while at first, it wasn't. I'm not talking shit to anybody, I'm just stating my original thought, and asking what the thoughts of others are on the subject, which I appreciate them telling me respectfully

The guy was actually just stating a fact lol no ones offended here. Tuning a diesel can go from noticing that rv behind you to not noticing at all.

Not offended, they told you want to look for and you came back with if I want to haul ass I'll get a sports car. Sounds like a 6.0 gasser would be a good option for you.
