Cracked #2 piston
I need some input from the wiser. Carillos and better pistons or Z rods and delipped stockers? I'm worried that the smaller build is not really going to save me that much money considering all the stuff that will be done in the build . Is the coast really between rods and pistons? thanks

Most everyone will point you towards aftermarket rods and delipped pistons. To get more answers you need to have a horsepower goal or post what turbo or turbos you are interested in and wether or not you plan on dual fuelers.
Tuning is getting better all of the time and I think we'll start seeing more and more 700 hp trucks with LBZ rods. Its already been done but no one knows how long they will last

800 -850 is my goal and that will have to be done with dual cp3s
As far as turbos I all ready have a 4088 figured that with a s480 or gt45 might do trick might have to call EPR and see what he thinks .

How far can I take delipped stockers tried calling Guy but no anwser yet ???

You are sick enough that you will need aftermarket rods.:D I think everybody uses cast pistons for DD use.

Ya I figured on the rods. Trying to figure out about the pistons especially the whole coating in dd or not . I read this big fight about this awhile ago it got pretty heated ,I don't know what the end conclusion was ??

I would go with coated, deliped cast pistons in a DD.the way I see it is coating dose not cost much so might as well do it while its a part.

I'm also a Socal dealer. I run the Cast piston cut coated and delipped. And i'm running Crower rods you will want to key the crank and cam.Stock main bolts and ARP head studs stock cam and stock heads. I ran a 11.53 @ 116.92 with twin cp3's and a GT4202R @ 6980lbs so I was making around 780 rwhp on that tune and it had more left in it.
