Haha good question. The wife gets home tomorrow and we will start to talk about money. I can get the money for a mild build but don't want to really. Yet I see it only being the cost of rods as the difference for it all.

Yo really only have 2 choice's , 1 is you have all the parts for a real nice built truck, but that road is not for the weak at heart ,or wallet  but you are real close to what you have wanted all along so my vote is to build up a mild short block , pretty much stock except for cut the pistons , through some rods , head studs, and key ways in it and it should be a fun truck .

2. would be put a stock motor back in it, sell of the goodies and get out of the game .

Good luck it isn't an easy choice , every one will tell you what to do , but its a little diff when you are the one fitting the bill .

Yeah you cant have your cake and eat it too. Stock power, or big power. If its your only method of transportation Id sell your go fast goodies and you can easily buy a shortblock and can have the truck up and running in a week or so if you do it yourself after work or something.

Well here's the thing. I have a spare block at Dustin's shop. So I will be building that. For sure I am going to put head studs in just to do it seeing how I'm where I am. It will get most likely cut pistons because its only like 400 to do that. The big thing is the rods. But if I am going this far I might as well just spend the $ for the rods and be done with it. At least that is my out look on it. I have never touched a motor so Dustin will do the build and I trust him. But that is also a big part of the $$ there. I know I wouldn't be happy back at 500hp but it may be the best thing for me at this time. And jordan like you said I could sell everything and it would pay for a lot of the cost to build the motor. So that's another. Have a build motor with stock fuel and turbo. Or a stock motor with to much fuel and twins and maybe have to deal with this again or just go 100% back to stock minus the trans of course.

Why would you be questioning buying rods when it sounds like that's why failed in the first place? If your gonna build it buy rods. If not your just f$&@ing the dog as they say.

Do the work yourself. It isn't that complicated; just take your time and pay attention to what you're doing. You can have a pretty stout bottom end for around $5k.

I guess I could do a stroker for almost the price it would have been to have someone else build it for me got me thinkin now haha

We went extreme, you dont have to. the stroker kit comes with just about everything you need. Then, down the road of course you can throw anyting extra you want and already have the bottom end to support it. cam, stage 2 heads, whatever you can dream of I guess. its still expensive and you need a great machine shop but like I said we went all out, billet main caps, main studs you dont have to do all that.

well, i think i am going to sell all of the go fast goodies and do a mild build. just rods, cut pistons and head studs. i will put my stock turbo back on and just run the stock CP3. not sure if i will mess with injectors if i have the money, i may just because it will be down that far already so i might as well. at least this way i will have both the motor and trans to handle some good power down the road and if i want i can always use some drugs if i want to go fast on the track....
