what tires to run??

gettin a truck for drag racing... I know nitto 420s are good... is there another tire better? what size.. going on rclb with 3" drop shackles and t bars lowered all the way.. 18" tall wheel too.. tire sizes??

How about the Nitto 555R? I haven't heard anyone run those yet besides Duatin with ATP I think. I'm also looking at wheels and tires. I have ran 420s and they were great. But want something more sticky and don't wanna run a heavy 20" wheel.

275/70/16 Proxes on PY0s was what I ran. I found that running something close to a 265-size tire was a good compromise.

on the nitto website it says they make the 420 for 18" wheels.. I also looked at the 555r on there.. ratings show it hooking up on due payment less than the 420.. I'm sure it's a softer compound tire.

If you get the right 20's, they aren't heavy.

If you want them for the track and have 18" wheels, I would go with the 305/45/18 Mickey Thompson drag radial

255/55 IIRC is largest 420 they make in 18". I ran them last year. Pulled high 1.7s to low 1.8s consistently. I felt like I need a little bit bigger tire. Rolling Bernie's were fun at 35 mph. And i might add that was with spanked out stock shocks. Running ranchos an 285/50 r20 420s this year. Here is a pic of the 255/55s

What tires for the stock pyo? Should I just get some drag radials to run around on? Nitto 420 doesn't have a size for em. I heard the stock PYO wheels are the lightest wheels and yeah obviously the 16" wheel. I will be drag racing this truck.
