What stall

If I was to get a 3000 stall converter, is there any negative effects? I had asked for a high stall one but must have been sent the wrong one. I'm trying to spool a very large single turbo. This will be my last try before switching to a handshaker where it's easy lol

How big of a single? Why not get a Mike L converter

I don't know if this helps but my stall is about 3000 and I can spool my S475 with ease. Switched from a SC 1057 to this high stall precision and its night and day.

George did the trans in the pulling truck and it has stock gears, do 3rd gear starts and spool a 475 with a 96 wheel and 1.1 wheel pretty effortlessly with a Suncoast 1055. Takes about 5 seconds to spool it and it's pretty much screaming full boost within a few feet. Truck has 100% injectors and twin pumps also

What's the stall on the 1055? And Watson, do you know your exhaust specs?

I'm not a turbo guy but I think its an 83, pretty tight easier to spool than most.

Don't know if it matters but I think my ar is .90

83mm turbine with a .90 housing is nothing to spool. I spool my s472/83/.90 with a stock stall ml converter absolutely no problem. Spooling a 96 mm turbine with a 1.25 housing is a whole new ball game. I would say your 3000 stall converter is WAY to loose for your turbo setup but if you like it then that's all that matters.

No, I have what seems like a stock stall in it now... Hence getting my old broken one rebuilt to a 3000 (or whatever) stall

I guess I missed that, so you have an old Precision your sending in for refresh and restall? Do you still drive this truck on the street?

Yes for time sake I'm sending out an old broken one tomorrow morning. That way I can work on pulling the trans here while it's being fixed and adjusted. Not street driven, I'll upload a video of my first attempt of spooling this thing last night

Just remembered, I know of two other trucks running the same converter I'm running, one with a billet S480 and the other a billet S483. They both spool at the track fine.
