Did some research and found out my precision ml converter comes with 1 free restall. Ive currently just a stock stall and it too tight for my liking. Its not bad with my s472 but I feel the s472 would be a new beast with a higher stall.

I almost picked up a 3000 stall suncoast 1053 but got scared away from it because of the 3000 stall.

Truck is a street and strip queen that sees zero towing, lowered on stock height tires...dual cp3, 30% injectors yada yada.... What stall would be ideal for me? I would rather have higher than lower for example I would rather a 2400 stall than a 2100 and so on...at what point would I be too high of a stall?

Im thinking a 2400-2600 would be nice...leaning more towards the 2600 side.

Opinions?

Don't be scared of a high stall, I have the DA precision and I think its around 3000. Ive seen it build 3100 at the line. Although it is a high stall it still couples really good on the street, it works 100 times better with my setup than my 1057 did.

mine is set at 2000 or so, it's way to tight and pulls when in gear at idle with my foot on the brake
it's great for towing, but other than that it's too tight. I recently had a ride in a high performance gasser with a yank 3600 stall and that felt pretty damn loose, if I were to re-stall my d-max, as a street truck I'd go for anything between 2600-3000

not to derail but I'm also in the same boat, have a 1058 and want to run a bigger turbo again. probably going with a 72/83

The 1058 is too tight for you? Originally that was the converter that I had wanted for quite awhile. I also run a 72/83/.90 but am in need of an 87mm turbine so looses is probably better. I dont want to be in this situation again telling myself the new converter is too tight.

I really like my MLG-K

I also bought one back when they first came out. Mike said he had 2 left and before I could even send him a pm he sold both.

I have a stock charger on this truck, last truck I had an s400 on was a manual so I don't have anything to compare it to. Per SC website, the stall on the 1058 is 2000..I was wanting to go to a s475/87 so I didn't have to change chargers when I built my spare engine, but thinking the 1058 would be too tight for a 75/87 charger..?

I can get a 1058 to about 2300. Others have said they have pushed them as high as 2800 on the brakes.

that doesnt mean its gunna help him. when the turbo finally lights, you can usually push the stall a little higher if your brakes hold but that is not helping the initial spool up

what about normal driving? I mean I would like to get a 75mm like is said so I don't have to upgrade down the road but worried about how well it will do from a stop.
Daily driving you'll be fine. The only issue I had with my 1057 which was way tight, was building boost at the track. It would just sit there in a dead bog at about 1800-2000 and never build boost. On the street it did fine, even towing it was fine. The only reason I switched to a high stall was for racing.
