My current setup on the truck is 466/87/.90 .My question is I think the housing is to tight. running 70 with 2lb of boost 800° on the egts . And you can't come in on the boost real hard while coming into light at the strip. Thanks for input planning on changing to 1.0 thoughts.

Why do you think that's to tight?

Converter is just as important as housings in my opinion

What he said. If you have a tight converter its gonna make that small housing feel like its choked and limited. Stall selection will be critical for your tight housing. Cam, turbo and converter selection all go hand-in-hand with each other. But like Ne-max said I think there are a lot of folks messing around with their turbos when they should be making a converter change instead.

1053 triple really not sure what the stall is on it I was thinking converter was to tight. but was wasn't sure if changing exhaust housing would do anything. What size stall should I be looking for

They offer several diff stalls of the 1053. The standard is around 2500 iirc. Where as the 1053-1 is even higher.

I would think even the standard 1053 would be fine with a 72. I dailied my truck with 100s and 10mm and s476/87/1.1 with a 1055-2 and drove awesome. The 1053-1 I tried was loose to spool it but coupling wasn't fun driving everywhere. Can't say for egts or boost as I don't have them. But, cruising in 6th I couldn't spool it but tapping down to 5th at 65mph would get it going.

You have an s400 single and 100s without a boost or egt gauge?

From my experience the 1.0 will spool faster. I don't think it's the converter. I DD with a 1058, but much smaller injectors. When you run that much fuel you need a looser turbine to get the energy to the wheel faster.

I thought it was to tight also for the fuel. If I hold the brake to spool it smash accelerator to quick turbo won't even spool just smoke to bet hell until I let out and squeeze on it slowly
Anybody happen to have a housing for sale or trade for a .90

You dont smash the throttle to do a boosted launch with a big single.
When I ran a 1058 with my old set up it would go to about 5psi and turn into a smokey mess. Tried differant tuners with no luck. Once I switch converters it was night and day. Also was more dd friendly.
