:D Not selling anything Pat -cept I might sell 8 KW's if the weather doesn't warn up here in Iowa soon :p

I'm just wondering on the use of a K31 in a twin set up. It's a factory replacement for 500hp 12.7 detroit and I can get new ones pretty resonable because we are a truck company and repair shop.

I am trying to weigh all my options before taking the plunge here in a couple weeks. I really am leaning toward the big cheetah, but if I can save a little ching by using the stock turbo and hanging a 2nd I need to check in to this. I know plumbing and mounting is gonna be a nightmare and what I save on the 2nd turbo I'll probably spend on mounting and plumbing.

So Pat if I wanted to say replace the LBZ VVT I sold and buy and istall a LLY turbo would that work?

Yes, you can swap them. I think you need to change the vane position sensor though. I had an LBZ on a truck for a short time.

I wouldn't put an LLY charger back on. If mine was off, I'd find an LBZ to replace it with for the better spooling characteristics.

The vane position sensor does need to be changed, the LLY sensor on the LBZ turbo causes a couple vane position codes and truck will run like shit

I guess my turbo missed this memo

Been running the LLY sensor on 2 different LBZ Cheetahs and it works just fine.

lly lbz lmm all run 0-6 volts and are the same length and thread the only thing tht can be diffrent is the plug on then end but the sensors all work the same way. mabey you had a bad one and by changing it to do diffrent one cured your issue but was only becuase your other one was bad would be my guess

Well, its possible that the LBZ sensor that came with my charger was bad, but I was told by some people on DP when I did it that they are different, which is why I thought they were and it made sense that when I changed it it worked

Guess I was wrong:confused:

both of my Cheetahs came without a vane sensor, and both are LBZ turbos. I have re-used my original LLY sensor and wiring on both :)
