what are these pieces for?? 2 of them 180deg apart. Looks like they are too keep you from bottom the filter out, they have a slight amount of travel with a spring behind them.

If i remember right i have seen this on a friends setup. looks to be a valve that closes off when you take the filter out to prevent fuel from draining back.

I couldn't see any inlet/ outlet holes in the cavities other than the bolt threads

It's a fuel diverter. It's helps direct the fuel around the base and seperate air better. :thumb:

Since the beginning of time lol. It should have had them, unless they came loose and were laying in the filter. If that's the case we can send out some new ones.
