South bend triple for that kind of power. I'm going to try my dual disk on a big single dual fuelers and either 40 overs or step up to 100s. Mine will be street/strip and hope to make around 750 on motor and 850 if I end up on the bottle. I'm anticipating my clutch is going to go and I'll have to go to a triple or realistically swap out the manual for an auto and get to the tens

Can you shift a triple disc fast? My dual disc shifts like stick on the strip. Scared all that rotating mass wouldnt want to slow down to synchronize.

There is a issue that your over looking and it sure the heck isn't the clutch. Id probably do some checking on your install or other mechanical problems.... South bend makes one of the best clutches on the market along with top notch customer service... only thing they don't warranty is a retard error or something of that nature!... I can name many, many high horsepower pulling trucks running their clutch across the country including my 2.6 truck with many hooks on it and they are fine. might want to do some checking and/or contact Peter or Manseil.

If I remember correctly, dylan can correct me , but the issue was in the pressure plate that was being used at the time and he upgraded to the centerforce PP.

if you want to make a bunch of power and be able to drive it on the street then you may as well swap for the auto. once you get a clutch in a zf that will hold a decent amount of power the only thing the truck will be good for is sled pulling. I am almost to the point where I don't like driving my truck on the street anymore.

Iv got a built auto in the truck now it's just not me I'll deal with heavy pedal and quick grab if I have to I want standard Trans back and just wanna be different around here to I'll see how long a 800hp dual disk holds up cause that's street able for sure drive one and loved it and go from there I guess it's only gonna see a sled once or twice a year and a track maybe once a year

im only at a max effort tune on a stock turbo, but the power isnt the issue. i bought a valair dual disc, with the sintered iron disc that will hold 800 hp. i have sled pulled it many times without ever an issue, it is really great for sled pulling. but this its not worth a crap for daily driving, especially if you see a few red lights. driving through peoria is a nightmare for me. i have to start in granny low because you cant slip the clutch at low rpms so if i try and start in second, like i used to be able to do with ease, the clutch grabs really hard and will either jerk the crap out of you or kill the truck. it slips rights nice at about 4k rpms with a loaded sled behind it, but backing a trailer is a nightmare

I have put 15+ dual disc 650hp SBC dodge clutches in in less then a year and they all seem to be very smooth and not one complaint about daily driving or backing a trailer up and one Duramax. they are seem smoth but no sledpulling with any of them.

Mine is also a sintered iron dual disk and I had no problems with a trailer and taking off in second. Yea it was grabby but manageable

Same here very manageable taking off in second and pulling a trailer if your not on asphalt u can pop in it 4 low to move a trailer around. And ive pulled twice. and dump it in 4th too do burnouts, Tried 5th gear dump at 3500 rpm and it will snuff it out it doesnt slip but im not making crazy power.

maybe mine has an issue. i have always wondered because i knew dual discs make noise when you push the clutch in, but mine always makes noise, even at idle. but its a different noise then when you push the clutch in. i dont want to call it a "knock" because that sounds harsh, maybe more of a loud ticking noise. i just assumed it was normal, never seen one of these clutches in anyone elses truck before.

I put a sbc triple in my 03 a little over a week ago and have put around 500 miles on it. The first 200 were pretty rough. It acted a lot like you said yours does dirty_max. Now it feels pretty well "broke in" and seated and isn't all that bad on the street. Or maybe I've just gotten used to it and learned how to drive it. I always take off in second. There is a ton of clutch noise with a triple and it is completely normal. Sounds the exact same as the triple in a buddies 2.6 truck.

it seems like ill be going with a sbc triple cause there the only ones so far that said they'll weight the flywheel the same as the automatic on that's on my truck so looks like that will be my choice
