What is the best way to key/pin the oil pump??

While I have the motor apart, I am having the cam/crank keyed and the water pump Tig welded. I would like to either key or pin the oil pump aswell, But I am unsure of the best (Safest) route to take. I tried searching old threads but did not come up with much. Thanks in advance

You can update it with an LMM oil pump that has the left hand thread or wait for a LML oil pump that has more volume of oil.

Thanks, but I plan on putting it all back together next week. An LML pump with more volume sounds good, HMM, you had a couple of those laying around didn't you??

We had the oill pump shaft and gear keyed. The nut never came loose the gear spun on the shaft it shelf.
