Well our 03 farm truck had the #4 injector stick open just 10 miles after I put a new water pump in it. Went and bought a 2011 that day and it will be here tomorrow, but thats a different story.

Anyways I wanted to check the piston out and see something weird. Im using my Snap-On 6000 videoscope and see a weird puddle looking thing. i dont know if its from the injector sticking and if it did something to the top of the piston or if its simply just residual oil from removing the injector.

I pulled the #2 to compare and I see a little drop of oil in that one which looks similar, but not completely.

I also plan on checking the compression if the piston is fine.

Does a stuck injector on our trucks have the potential to cut a hole in the piston or bend a rod or do any other damage?

Anyways the pictures are attached one is far away , one is closeup.

The first picture looks like a hole melted through the piston.

The second picture, it is hard to tell the depth of the dark spot due to noise distortion in the picture, but makes me second guess the hole.

Compression test will tell more.

EDIT: On edit, the second picture is an Amoeba.

The spray pattern doesn't concern me much since the injecrpr was stuck open anyways.

After playing with it and looking at it more it appears to be somewhat melted.
