I'll also add, I wouldn't get Fabtech or Cognito HD tie rods. The inner bushings wear super fast and you cant just get them, gotta buy the whole tie rod. Centerlink and sleeves is proven time and time again, so I didn't feel the need to waste more $$ on parts I didn't need, just to say I had cool stuff :thumb:

Right now with just cvs at level and sleeves it stays together when launching at 10psi or less but in my launch pics you can see the flex in my wheels. Eventually hoping to get faster I know it is gonna get worse so just trying to see what I need to plan to order and what my best route is!

strange, it shouldnt. you 100% sure that your idler/pitman arm are not worn? fabtech lifts have so much damn angle on the steering tie rods that even with braces, the stress of turning 37s on asphault mixed with those steep angles will cause the braces to flex and wear the two arms out. been down that road lol. i can launch mine pretty damn hard with the t-bars dropped all the way

ive only heard of cognitos having that issue unless the fabtechs have just come about having that issue.

yeah you have something flexing/moving that shouldnt be. i launch at 20 or so psi total (5psi of that is the big turbo starting to come on) and i leave with just a little bit of the old "dmax 2 step". 50psi in the tires and really soft shocks didnt help but still more than you got goin on

So everyone who has commented in this post would say the best setup would either be stock tie rods with sleeves or aftermarket HD tie rods, tbars lowered all the way down, and either the allseasons brace or the cognito supports?

Best setup IMHO is the kryptonite. Second best is a straight centerlink and tie rod sleeves.

after hearing all the nonsense about the cognito tierods i went with the Rare Parts and couldn't be happier they are fantastic and the parts are serviceable.

and just stuck with cognito supports instead of centerlink because i couldn't get a straight answer as to which ones had worse turning raduis and which ones didnt.

all in all im happy it launches straight as an arrow with t-bar bolts out

What is an extreme idler support. Dmaxstore has them and I have no idea what the benefit would be. And I don't see it mentioned here either.

Never seen the point of it. The frame mount flexes before that becomes an issue and even so with mine braced I only bent my original factory one cause I was doing jumps in 4wd under wot. That wasn't the only thing I hurt either lol.

I think Troy with your truck sitting where it is height wise, I would do Sleeves or the Tie Rods, and Tonys brace, I think you will be happy with that!

I think that is what I am leaning towards :thumb:

college days. the goal was to "thoroughly test the new EXAXT steering kit". it passed but a upper ball joint, lower lift kit braces, front axle seal, and that idler arm support didnt :roflmao:

Wow :roflmao:

there are a bunch of threads of the hell i put this truck through on DP. i seemed to have been the only one on that site that went out and beat the piss out of the kit to see if it would really hold up over my prior setups. it did and still does today. Sucks cognito had to step in and make Mac stop selling to the states.

fabjunk (fabtech). not my ideal lift. bumpsteer/toe change through the suspension cycle is AWEFUL! and they basically make you "crank the t-bars" to achieve your 8" lift, hence why ive lowered the front end to around 6.5" of lift

Ahh. I've considered doing a 4" cognito to get my cvs straight so I can still run these 305s and launch it on the street. But jumps would be cool too. :thumb:

make sure you idler/pitman arm have NO slop in them. if there is ANY, the braces wont do you any good
