If u cant find a chevy in a 96 - 98 ( Vortech 350 ) I would look into getting her a 94 - 2002 dodge either with the cummins or 318 gasser motor. I had a 318 gasser and have beat the dog piss outta it for about 80k it had 200k on it when she got sold. And i never turned a wrench on that truck.

That might have a lot to do with it. :D

Another vote for an S10 ZR2 here. They're great trucks.

I vote for a 99 or newer silverado or Sierra. My gf's brother just picked up an 04 Sierra for 13k, really nice truck. I would also say Toyota tacoma with a 3.4 v6. I had one of those and loved it but sold it to get my dmax:)

Colorado/Canyon or if you get a trailblazer get one with the Inline 6 motor they are hard to find but they get the best mpg and hold up alot the best I have a friend whos wife bought one and she gets 20 mpg town and 26 27 highway

we couldnt get past 21/22 highway with our and it was the 6 cyl. combined driving was usually 18.

towing our 4100lb camper it got 12.

Jordan, my neighbor over the years has had plenty of Toyota's. Hate to admit it but there some tough machines! Last a long time and take a severe beating and keep goin! They also handle the rough stuff well. The only thing ive seen is rusting and they've gotten better as time goes. If she wants an SUV the Landcriuser's are just as tough! And, both might be easyer for her to get in and out of;)

I would LOVE to get a nice clean 4x4 Hilux diesel Yota truck but there hard to find here and pricy. But theres always canada, they got em!:thumb:

x2:)
My tacoma had the pre-runner package with an e locker and I would beat the hell out of that thing in the desert and never had a problem, much more nimble and easier to drive than my dmax.

TX of course
Out of everything GM listed the Canyons or Colorados are the only ones that will do 20MPG+. Give me a break on Trailblazers they get the same or just about the same as the Tahoes. Look down here in TX clean trucks are cheaper here then most places.

I know over here in Baghdad they have the little chevy LUV's wqith the small diesels, and the the Isuzu d-max trucks are sweet. But no go in the US. I think my dad would kick my ass for gettin a toyota in my shop. He did own a Land Cruiser that lasted forever.

I too prefer the old ZR2 S-10s, but finding a Canyon or Colorado would probably be easier for low miles and good condition. As much as I hate to say it, Toyota Tacoma would not be a bad route to go. They are great little pick-up trucks.

SO I have been finding some nice LB7 trucks online, our LB7 dually has been great minus the 4 sets of injectors... SHe wants a diesel no doubt so that may be the route we go, I've got my dealer on the lookout for anything clean Colorado Canyon Envoy Trail Blazer, D-Max. I guess we will find out what she gets next weeks...

I am very very pleased with my wifes Colorado..Z71 4 door.

Put 31" BFG A/T's on it and a grill, bug shield, and tinted the windows and it's a damn good looking little truck! Perfect size for her and I actually like driving it to, I was skeptical on the I-5 but it seems to be holding up just fine!
