ok boys, gettin ready to order up some more gauges. ordering another 0-35psi boost gauge for the big turbo so i can get my waste gate tuned in better, an oil temp gauge for towing and i want a fuel pressure guage to monitor if my lift pump is keeping up or if i filter pluggin up.

Question is, autometer makes two different style in the ultra lite II electric sending unit fuel pressure gauges. a 0-15psi and a 0-100psi. i know shane talked about its recommend you run a lift pump at 20psi for the CP3s to keep plenty of fuel to them. i have the stock spring in the ADII 165 maxed without any loping from too much pressure in the FICM. Dunno what thats netting me but i may change it out to get it higher.

Now the prob i have with goin with the 0-100psi gauge is 0-20psi on it is a very small movement and even being young, i have a hard time seeing that little movement when your on it hard. Now, i have no prob running the 0-15psi gauge and having it read pegged the whole time but dunno if the gauge or sender can stand up to that in everyday use.

So what would you guys pick? maybe ill just run the 0-15 and run the pump at 15psi. not sure yet

I don't know about others but my fuel pressure sender ,auto meter,is finakey Sometimes it freezes up. I have it mounted at the bleeder port and was told they don't like vibration. I have it connected to a small piece of fuel line to eliminate that but it still does it.

I'd like to hear from others on this myself.

Iirc mine is a 30 psi auto meter ultra lite, I can only run about 13 because it blows past the fca and rail pressure would get way too high at idle. Also I run my ficm dry

I mounted my sender at the bleeder screw also and have not had any problems with it but my filter head is mounted on the passenger side fender so that might be why. I ended up going with the 0-100 cause I plan on running a boost ref regulator somtime in the future. I have mine mounted in the overhead and I have no prob reading it or seeing how much it moves.

Mine wont be mounted in the bleed port. My filter head is deleted since i have a adII and twins. Ill have to splice an adaptor in on the hose before my ficm

I've seen no gain or changes on any of my logs when I'm running either 7psi to the CP3s or 120+psi at this point James. I haven't run one of Shane's pumps either though. It is sound advice to have plenty of pressure at the CP3 so you don't get to a vacuum situation on the suction side. I run digital gauges that go to 150+psi so I cant say one way or the other on the gauge graduations. Sounds like 30-50psi gauge is your Huckleberry. Check the oil pressure gauges. These use the same senders.

For those running a dry FICM. I run the second CP3 return (CP3 only) through the FICM to keep fluid running through it. The second CP3s return is not hot. This eliminates the high pressure spikes too.

Mine is the 0-30 cobalt. I run close to 15 at idle. I think the 100 would be harder to see what it drops to.

Yeah i believe his point was that it helps prolong the cp3 and keep cavitation to a minimum. Ill have to dig the thread up. Untill i get a big tune in the truck, its not as big a worry on pressure since im holding rail just fine at 2000uS. Id like to keep the guage saying "fuel pressure" to keep it cleaner lookin and it has to be an ultra lite II to match my other guages. Hmmm, guess i should see what else i can find. Worst case im leanin toward a 15psi gauge and just run my pump up to 15psi

I run a 15 psi gauge on my truck. My ADII 165 is turned up a little to about 14 psi at idle and drops to around 8 to 10 when running hard. I don't think you can hold 20 psi with that pump when you are at full power. I just don't think it has the flow to hold that pressure.

0-15 cobalt. run it at 11 psi at idle. anymore and the ficm goes haywire. 11 psi at idle leaves me with 4 psi at WOT
