I ran out of transynd as i was filling the trans up last night. I dont have time to wait for transynd to come in from ordering online. What fluid could i add to it that i could get from say napa or advance? Just 295 rated or what?

I was under the impression that Dex-3 was the preferred choice for a built trans? Apparently synthetic oil delaminates the clutches? Hey, I could be wrong. Mike would be the one to set you straight.

Dex III is compatible with Transynd in a pinch. Most double drain fluid changes start out with Dex III & Transynd. I've never heard of anything getting hurt when they are mixed.

Well its shifting good, had one weird flare up on a downshift from fifth to fourth though. Only did that once. Has 3 gallons of transynd in it and 2 gallons of valvoline dex3 synthetic. Hmmmmm

I really dont want to toast this trans at all by any means, would it be worth draining and refilling with regular old non synthetic dex 3?

A quote from Mike in another thread.
Dex 3 should be run for break in. In cold temps, a synthetic Dex 3 ( TranSynd ) is the recommended fluid.
Somewhere down the line I am going to run some test on synthetic fluids. Citgo quatrasyn works great if you can find it.

I'm no trans expert at all.

IMHO you're fine with trasynd. How much power are you making?

Mike or Evan, correct this if I'm wrong.

I use Transynd in the transmissions I have built with no I'll affects. Both alto and raybestos clutches.
