Sorry, I haven't figured out how to post to the forum, so sorry for burning up the introductions...

I'm looking at a MBRP 5" stainless, turbo back kit. Do you guys have any input or recommendations? I'm still debating on whether to run the kit w or w/o a muffler.

Also looking at intakes... Anything good/bad/indifferent?

Everything else is bone stock, unless you guys have any other tips or tricks...

Thats a good exhaust system, exactly what i run. I opted for the muffler because i am still fairly young and would like to keep my hearing as long as possible.

As for intakes, your stock intake flows enough air to feed your stock turbo whatever it wants.

I run the same exhaust as well, 5"MBRP, also with the muffler. Love it, sound just right to me, not to loud that it becomes annoying when you on a trip for hours. And not to quiet either. This was actually the first mod I did on my truck lol :thumb:
You might have to get a programmer/tune change, some trucks will set a EGR code when you install a turbo back kit.

A 4" exhaust is plenty big for most requirements, nothin wrong with a 5" tho. I'm running a diamond eye 4" and a 3" downpipe with muffler and no resonator and it's plenty loud when under load yet quiet enough for normal driving and doesn't resonate in the cab, it's got a nice tone. If you're planning on more power I'd look into getting a downpipe as well, besides it opens up the exhaust flow quite a bit and allows you to hear the turbo, which I like.
IMHO, the banks ram air intake with the super scoop is hard to beat if you're dead set on buying an intake, however to get ya by as mentioned, the stock air box can be modded/stripped down to flow enough for 550whp and save ya the money to put to better mods for the time being.

Awesome, great advice! Sounds like I'd be throwing money out the window on an intake at this point. The truck came with a K&N filter in the factory airbox as is. That means more money towards a lift/wheels/tires.:woott: Speaking of which, any of you guys run a 20x12 -44 wheel, with a 35x12.50 tire? I know I'll have to trim the lower bumper valance regardless, but would a 6" lift and maybe a key set get me the clearance I'd need? Gonna be in the future, but a guy can dream... and keep an eye out for those "can't pass it up" deals in the meantime

I'd get that K&N filter out and put a stock one in. The stock one filters way better than the K&N and you wont lose any performance.

Get ahold of Creatures of the Night Performance, they got me hooked up with a 5" Magnaflow and it is great fit and finish, and unlike some 5" systems this system doesnt neck down to 4" by the trans and T-case but instead goes all the way to the downpipe as 5". For intakes I have always ran S&B, mostly for performance, but I also believe they dress up the under-hood area a lot.
