What Else While Doing HG

Getting ready to order goodies to do my HG.

So I will be getting the typical:

Grade C
Studs
Danville pinned pump
T-Stats (I am thinking Mishmoto low temp T-stats)
EGR Delete
Welded Passenger up pipe

Any NEEDS I am forgetting?

Here is where I need you guys to tell me if these items would be a complete waste or a good idea since I will be in the engine.

Things like:

Valves (of course necessary if any are bent, but any good to upgrade/replace if they are fine?)

Valve springs

Push rods

Mishmoto silicone hoses

Not planning on a full engine build anytime soon, but will in the future. Any benefit to doing this kind of stuff now while it is apart?

Trans was going to be built, but head gaskets went so trans will get built in the summer and power turned up. I realize rods are the weak link, but I am just looking for some engine improvements while it is opened up.

Am I just wasting money on these items?

Go easy as I really don't know what would benefit me, but like to upgrade if I can and it helps.

Thanks

How many miles are on the truck?

I got the Mishimoto hoses
A+ on those bad boys

The pinned pump is fine but not necessary

I also got the mishimoto thermostats, my heater hasn't worked the same since...I thought maybe I installed them backwards, but no
So if I were to do it again Id just stick with the stock t-stats

As for the springs and pushrods, they're more of a novelty for your performance level, you don't "need" them until you "need" them, so yeah, kinda a waste of money IMHO
Valves?
Don't bother, I'm not even sure there are upgraded stock sized valves available for the dmax?

Thanks Jason, I appreciate the feedback. Truck has 150 on it.

I was pretty sure pushrods and springs would be a waste for me.

Also curious on the T-stats you went with? Low temp?

X2 on the 180 thermostats, to low for me...

DP and MP are done.

Why are the low t stats too low?

I was thinking as I always seem to be pulling some pass or driving up a canyon everywhere I go, it could be helpful. I can barely pull Teton Pass unloaded without having to pull over. I just thought it may help keep it cooler. However, as stated- I am pretty clueless so any info is helpful.

I do understand that the LLY tends to overheat- do lower T-stats not help? and why not?

3" Y-bridge would be pretty easy while you're doing HG's, unless that's what you meant by EGR delete.

Well, I actually did not mean the Y by EGR delete. However, I had thought about the Y. Is that a better choice than just a RDL delete tube?

I'd say so, you have to buy the pipe that goes with it which is similar to the egr delete tube, the y-bridge ic pipe combo is only an extra $300, and right now would probably be the easiest time to change the y bridge out.

What about anything with the cp3? 150 on rig so would a new one be advised or maybe the Arson kit from Wicked?

Oh yeah, gonna throw a race plug in also, maybe just the LBZ pressure relief valve.

Unless your having fuel pressure issues your pump should be OK with what your doing. Mines got now 253,XXX miles and supports over 500hp. Only thing I've replaced was the regulator. Do you have a lift pump?
