Question: What else to install for a high mileage transmission rebuild?

I've got a truck with 208k miles and the transmission is not the one that it came with originally. However, it's showing signs of slippage when pulling a trailer and I'm finally going to install the PPE Stage V kit that I've had for a while now.

I'm going to assume the transmission is a 200k mile transmission. In a previous thread, Mike L recommended replacing all the torrington bearings, solenoids, and bushings, as well as the C5 clutch pack.

Where is a good place to order these items from and does anyone have part numbers handy? What about the flexplate and flywheel?

Thanks.

Awesome, thanks!

What about the solenoids, bushings, and C5 clutches? Any recommendations there?

For solenoids, is it just three: "A", "B", and "F" (PWM)?

For C5 clutches, I'm seeing PPE and ATS, with PPE being nearly twice the price of ATS.

Thanks guys.

You building it yourself? If irc you are fairly close to me, you could get the other parts you need at Truck Enterprises in Maugansville MD.

I'm not but I will give them a call and see what they have. Thanks!

Ppe sells the c5 clutches as well.

Yeah I saw that. They seem to be almost double the price of the ATS stuff.

I though unless you was making pretty good power new stock c5 clutches would be fine am i wrong?

I believe that's the case generally speaking, but Mike L recommended a replacement of the C5 clutches on a higher mileage transmission in a previous thread.

I gave Mike a call earlier and he confirmed that I should replace everything since it's getting opened up. Looks like an additional $500 or so, at least.
