Siemens generator change out after we did a gear box swap 5 towers down. Rigged down and moved to the tower. Little nerve racking first time you see this drive.

It's the largest mobile. We also have the largest stationary crawler but it lifts less. Mobile is a Tadano 550ton. We are setting it up in downtown Phoenix tonight.

I love driving the 450 tadanos. All wheel steer and the dolly is in neuatral. Turns on a dime. Right at 175,000 rolling. I believe just the main block is 4500lbs.
Sounds about right, how big is the rope on that? You run em or you rigging

I guess maybe on a cheap forklift. But I've seen 40k in weights stacked on one moving a 80,000lb horizontal machining center in our shop.
Our old Cat (1950s OLD) has 10,000 lbs stacked on it for last 30 years. It's rated for 10k and has been lifting well over that for longer than I have been alive.
Not sure how much length it's about 8000lbs of cable on the main and aux winches. Believe it's 1" good for 24,500lbs single pull. I'm the oiler on the 450. Not comfortable running them yet I just run the smaller ones around in the yard placing counterweight on the step decks.
25mm, I'd guess it's got 1200 ft or better. It's a blast running the big ones, they are way smoother than the smaller cranes. My Opperator was out from surgery so I had to pick a boiler at Western refining in el paso, tx. 285k and was stupid how smooth it was. You get heavy on those small cranes and they get kinda jerky

The newer Tadano im on is way too smart but I understand why. Im always looking at the under/overboom for the operator and it has it automatic "angle hold" on the boom so as it picks weight it adds some main boom cylinder to the pick so there is literally zero deflection. crazy how advanced it is.
That's what most Ford owners do anyways. Did you know 80% of all Fords are still on the road today? The other 20% actually made it home:roflmao:
No comparison in a cat built in 1950 and a modern fork lift built in Korea. Everything cat built in that era was severely over built.
