looking for a mechanical rail pressure gauge. my boost and pyro are Ultra Light II's so i would like to find that same gauge for rail pressure. Also im assuming a 0-15psi fuel pressure gauge is plenty right? Thanks

looks like im gonna go with a cobalt rail pressure gauge and a cobalt fuel pressure gauge.

do these rail pressure gauges work by sending pressurized fuel into the gauge? meaning ill have fuel coming into the cab? lol

No they tap into the wires on the rail pressure sensor....trying to get 20-27k psi of fuel into the cab would be a nightmare and extremely dangerous.

good. cause this that is what i was thinking

and fuel pressure gauge taps into the lift pump line or something right?

I know my AD2 has a port on it that you could put the Sensor on....But I would have it as close to motor has possible IMO.

there's a little deal that goes where the filter bleeder screw is and it reads from there.

Mechant Auto sells the little adapter fitting that goes onto the bleed screw and adapts it to a 1/8" pipe wich is what the little transducer that comes with the fuel pressure gauge when you buy it. If you shop around a bit, you can find a good deal on the gauges. I think I used amazon when I bought mine. List was 225ish and I found it for 175. Im looking for a rail pressure gauge to match my autometer ultralites as well. As far as I know, it taps into the rail pressure sensor and transmits the elctronic signal. I know Im not plumbing 27K of fuel pressure into the cab :thumb:

Link to the fitting adapter: http://www.merchant-automotive.com/fuelpressuregaugeadapter.aspx

And I have a 15psi fuel pressure gauge. My AD 1 puts out about 10-12 psi

Yeah im buyin em from alligator performance and it comes with the little adapter thing. got my rail psi gauge, fuel pressure gauge, and pillar pod for 320. which isnt too bad.

the site says the fuel pressure gauge needs to be mounted outside the vehicle? f*ck that

Yeah thats a good price. I dont know why it would say to mount the gauge outside as its just a couplea wires running to the gauge. That is probably for the mechanical gauge I would assume.

Idk. The rail pressure gauge is electrical but I guess the fuel pressure is mechanical and has fuel running to it. It's getting mounted in the cab regardless tho.

The fuel pressure guage I have for my lift pump is electrical not mechanical. Other than the sensor being finicky once in awhile do to vibration it works good. Thats what I would suggest although I have seen some use a mechanical guage with copper tubing I would still op for a electrical one.

As far as rail pressure you wont find a mechanical one I don't believe. I couldn't imagine having that PSI fuel running into my vehicle! You'd be nuts! :D

Yeah a big no on 26k psi of hot fuel spewing in my face haha. What fuel pressure gauge do you have

Just a Auto-Meter Ultra Lite series. I know that the electrical fuel Pressure Gauges aren't cheap compared to mechanical.
