Well I need to log rail and see what it's doing, it's not throwing any codes but that doesn't mean the rails arent a little on the empty side. In the end it looks like that's all it will do with stock fueling.

If you wanna run better, lighten up for wheel/tire setup for sure. You throw some stock wheels on with some 28-29" radials and you'll drop your times down to a 12.3-12.4 easily especially with a better 60ft. I know some have done some calculations but I agree with some who came up with every lb off your wheel/tire is close to equaliing pulling 6-7lbs of static weight off the truck. So say your 20s weigh at 78lbs and some pyos with some radials mounted weigh in at 48lbs. That's dropping 30lbs x 4 = 120lbs x6 = 720lbs off (static weight) now remember Tom came up with 150lbs off these trucks will drop your ET .1 so 150 into 720 is right at 4.8. So your looking at dropping your et by .4 just by changing up your wheel/tire setup especially cutting a better 60ft. I've seen the results on my truck and I will never run my truck on the track with my 20s on if I'm trying to beat my PB time.

Will 01 set a low rail code in a hard pull? Can't remember what they do but seems like they will run way low on rail before throwing a code..

honestly my 60ft isn't bad the fact that it's allmost as good as yours with 20's is ok with me lol. I was more concerned with how the truck felt at the back half of the track it feels like it just falls off. I'm not looking to shed weight either, I'm sure there's tons of ways to improve track times i was more wondering if something was wrong more than how I can improve.

LB7s dont like throwing the code till you are WAY low on rail pressure. iirc, its around 10-12k before it throws P0087.

i bet your running out of fuel, Sean. jons truck is running 12.3s on Russells charger up in michigan right now (better air than we have) and on PYOs. We just went over his logs and found he has room for more fuel than steve first gave him (old injectors didnt let him hold as much rail as now). out here he was running 12.7-12.9s on a stock charger and PYOs and draining rail. So really, you are not far off. Your MPH hitting 104 says you have more ET to get down to as it sits but not if you cant keep the train moving to the end. just FYI, when i first built my engine and ran the truck, my 1/8 mile was a 8.0 at 90mph and a 12.39 at 113 iirc on the speed. my 60 was a 1.93 though :D

Hell my LB7 in my sig pulls low 1.7s too weighing 7200lbs on 285 Toyo MTs lol 1.61-1.64s is what I usually see on the stock motor in my LLY but after the build I've only made one pass and yes it was a 1.68 but I also did have to drive through the water pit at that track so that sucked. I was just simply trying to share my info on how weight and a wheel/tire setup affected my truck. But yes I understand what your saying about how it felt and how you could be loosing rail but I was just referring to weight reduction as if you do that plus fix your rail issues you just may surprise yourself on how fast that truck would be at the track.

Interesting. I had a feeling it was dropping off. When I hit about half track it feels ok but before the 1000' it just drops off

If it's falling off on the big end, that pretty much points to one problem. Smaller/lighter wheels not only help 60' they help all the way down the track. But back to RP, I'll bet a lot shows it holds for a few seconds then steadily drops off. 8.1-8.2s is not bad at all. The best my LMM went was 8.08 on stock fuel and air....

some guys like to loose weight, some like to add power and some like to do both.

im all about adding more power to my current weight. i wanna know that what it runs at the track is what it runs on the street too. most ive done is remove my spare and clean the tool box out one time. that was 260lbs and still didnt keep me from bending rods :roflmao:

Well I'm 6800 with me and a half tank. If I wanted a lightweight race truck I would have bought a single cab. I would like to weigh my wheels though because I'm curious. It also helps I don't weigh much :D

That's what I was thinking on lb7 rail codes.. was pretty sure it'll drop a lot before throwing a light..

Thanks for clarifying

Not gonna go faster till you do one or the other. I took the approach James did, more power. 900+ to be exact :D

I wanted to go light as possible bc my wallet wasn't thick enough to go more power but it's a lot more practical to have ur truck at the weight u drive around everyday n not have to worry bout takin everything out at track to get better times. That's y i bought the reg cab n with me n it it was about 5300 n run 7.60's with a consistent 1.6 60ft. I think I cut a 1.5 once but that way with pyo's n worn down at's lol
