I pull sled with my 05 dmax. It has 11" of lift stock gears and I pull on 38"x15.50"x20" nitto mudgrapplers. I also broke a half shaft but it was because the rear driveshaft broke first and that put all the power on the front axle and caused the tie rod to break and then the half shaft broke.

Yeah I know of three including yours that lost rear shafts. I'm glad mine stayed together,I had to tow another truck 8hrs home.

One of the few and proud that day! The track had a dip in it and that made the sled come up and cause the tires to spin for just a second and then all that weight came crashing back down and stopped the tires instantlly! It was still fun! The crowd was awsome! We had to put my truck on trailer as well but we used by buddys duramax's rear shaft to drive it on the trailer! Then the whole way home the powerstroke that was pulling my truck kept blow intercooling silcone tubes off! Was a bad weekend all together!
