Guys break mahle performance cast pistons quite frequently... Fingers pistons out perform them without a doubt.

Don't have a clue. Somewhere in the 900s and the is just going by how I do against bigger hp trucks. When it was first built my tuning guy told me 850 to 900. I figured since I but a slightly bigger turbo on it after it was tuned it put me in the 900 range. But going for 1200hp this go around. Changing a lot of stuff

When I bought the mahle back in 2010 fingers was just coming out with his. I figured I would just use the same rotating assembly this time around with a refresh. But if something goes wrong I will be putting fingers piston back in it when that time comes.

If I ever have an issue with these I will go to fingers forged, but for now I'm gona see what these are capable of since I already have them.

Now the fun is to decide whether to stick with the allison and let Evan build it or swap something else in, like maybe a 4r100 or 48re. Who's running 9s on a allison? This setup will be over 1200hp by the end of the year so we will see if this 6000lbs single cab is capable of running 9s:thumb:

Well some things have changed and I'm now going to be running 20 over Fingers cast pistons 16.5 with 0.075 pockets instead of the standard Mahle.

Where is the best place to find a set of these?

No the other pistons have been returned.

I Decided they were the best option for me with what i am wanting to do with the truck. Ive heard of people breaking race cast Mahles when making big power and if i remember correctly no one has broke a cast fingers yet. when I'm spending 15k whats another 600$ for pistons that are proven to last better? :thumb:

Well just bit the bullet and ordered the parts for my lb7 build!

Arp main studs
Arp head studs
Keyed stock crank
Ati dampner
Arp flex plate bolts
Empire stage 2 AF cam, keyed
New OEM oil pump
Welded MA water pump
Stock heads with valve job
Empire valve springs
Push rods

Im sure I'm forgetting little things!

Everything will be balanced, machined and assembled short block by Burkett Racing!!!

Don't be in no hurry to get motor back. I dropped mine off to him first of December and he was six weeks behind then. I called yesterday and he is just now getting to it. There was six motors already dropped off the day I brought mine to him. He is one busy man.

This is always a good sign of a quality machine shop!! Many over look time to quality and Machining is an Art that can not be rushed which so many machine shops push stuff out the door for volume over quality.

I broke a ring land in a cast mahle race. Idk why, to little ring gap, maybe bad machining on block

Common on both Forged and Cast high boost and High EGT setups over 1k hp mark. Have seen multiple times especially on dry block sled pull setups.

Keep in mind when using Oval Piston bowl of Spray patterns of injectors.
