Now the fun is to decide whether to stick with the allison and let Evan build it or swap something else in, like maybe a 4r100 or 48re. Who's running 9s on a allison? This setup will be over 1200hp by the end of the year so we will see if this 6000lbs single cab is capable of running 9s:thumb:

Pretty sure Evan has a full weight (7000lb) crew cab in the deep 9s with an allison.

I know people will disagree, but I say swap it with a 48re. Especially if you are planning on nines. You will lose one gear but the final drive is the same as the five speed. It will run faster than an allison and the total cost is very similar if you go manual valve body vs pcs. Plus you can then sell your allison. I looked into it seriously for a little while.

Don't get me wrong, My trans from Evan performed flawlessly, but I was only a mid ten second truck.

1200+hp is a whole lotta squeeze.

why not run Fingers Oval pistons?
This. I wouldn't run race cast at that power level.

And if it's going to be track dedicated then I'd run forged.

It won't necessarily be a "track dedicated" truck it will still be a somewhat "street truck" and i don't plan on making many 1/4 mile passes i was just using 9s as a reference. We mostly run 1/8s around here, hoping for low 6s in the 1/8 at 6000lbs race weight.

Don't be in no hurry to get motor back. I dropped mine off to him first of December and he was six weeks behind then. I called yesterday and he is just now getting to it. There was six motors already dropped off the day I brought mine to him. He is one busy man.

Although we have forged fingers now, we have ran two different sets of cast mahle motorsports non-fingers that held up for years at over 1000hp. They will literally take a beating. Cannot neat the price either.

Did you run them in a strictly pulling truck? what was your fuel/air setup?

Don't have a clue. Somewhere in the 900s and the is just going by how I do against bigger hp trucks. When it was first built my tuning guy told me 850 to 900. I figured since I but a slightly bigger turbo on it after it was tuned it put me in the 900 range. But going for 1200hp this go around. Changing a lot of stuff
