I'm a Union Sheeet Metal worker thats been laid off since the end of sept. Our local is currently at excess of 20% unemployment. I just got a call a few minutes ago from my business mngr that I've been requested and to show up mon morning. YAHOO!
I know it is tough. The Plumbers and Pipefitters to the north of my local have had many laid off and some like off since the end of last year. I myself just been laid off like 3 weeks. But been lucky for 21 years never to be off more than a few days. So can't complain. I new one day a time like this would come. But my local of Plumbers and Pipefitters are in pretty good shape. But I must say I am starting to like this time off. May not pay as much but I don;t have much debt luckily. Mostly this truck.
Thats Great! Im a Local 94 Fitter, been off since march, Worked at Timken ( Roller Bearings, Steel) Since the Auto indusrty took a dump, so did Timken, Hence my Vacation.
Its got to get better, This Economy is the worst ive seen.
