Maybe someone needs to take me to school! I don't see a single negative, only benefits. Who drives in a parking lot getting groceries with it in 4x4 anyways
take an icy corner in 4wd with the front end locked up and the rear end locked up. the front end will push like an MF'er cause the tires can not turn different speeds and you have no slip in the t-case to let the front and rear driveshafts to turn different speeds so the give HAS to be at the tires or what ever breaks along the way to allow that difference in speed. once one of those front tires breaks loose (or both which is very likely due to the spooled front now) and you have any momentum behind you, your gunna be going straight. its hard enough on just a little slope thats iced over to keep traction in a tight turn with 4wd locked in and an open front. its the same reason i can turn corners sooooo much better when i pop my zuk out of 4lo into 2lo as the locker will not be loaded up so it will unlock and i can turn sharper regardless of my spooled rear. then there is using the truck in 4lo to back up trailers from the street to the house and so on. its the little things you dont think about on a DD where it can cause a bit of pain in the ass.
then as i say before, the front driveshaft will turn all the time now which can be an issue for true lifted trucks
