Hmm popping sound...have you tried the hose clamp fix? There is a bearing in the steering shaft that is just a tad loose, when the hose clamp is put on it, it stops a lot of movement and noise. One of my beat mods.

You talking the upper control arm bolts the alignment thingyson there cause there is a shiny spot ill have to double check them and Payton the noise isn't coming from that far back but couldn't hurt to pull it out an see, hows your truck running? You or bracken want to buy my tranny?? :D

Yes, ive had them come loose on two trucks. Replaced bolts and cams and problem solved. The upper bushings must wear and let them get loose.

I've been having this same noise for about 20,000 miles now. I just replaced the cv axles and nothing changed. I'm wondering if its the bushings that are in the lower A-arms where it connects to the frame

This was the case on my 2004. I had to spray them with penetrating oil for a couple of weeks to make them finally stop popping.

My 04 was doing the same thing. It stopped when I replaced the wheel bearing hub Assy. And is not doing it anymore. But for around 20,000 miles drove me crazy. Forgot to add I paid around $180. at Auto zone for one. Got the other one for $80 delivered off line.

So reading this, pretty much just replace everything and you should be good to go. I got the pop too. Could be a multitude of things as my truck is lifted. I'm just gonna live with it until something becomes painfully obvious or falls off the truck.
