I have a really loud funny sound at about 2000 when loading the engine rolling into it in overdrive. Anyone have any idea?

Thats what I thought it sounded like but it seems to only do it at a certain rpm, and I don't see any soot on my bellows or any exhaust for that matter.

It almost sounds like timing rattle on my phone. Could the timing on that tune be off in the 2000ish rpm range and be causing it?

I tried another tune and you can barely here it. I think its a mechanical problem that I haven't noticed before until this tune. Because tune I can hit 40 psi rolling into it at half throttle and the other I ran previously could roll into 35ish max. I think the sound follows boost and not rpm like I thought. I don't know if a pressurized exhaust would sound the same as a n/a exhaust leak? Haven't seen any soot around the uppipes though.

The sound on my laptop sucks. If you're certain it's mechanical it could be a torque converter or flexplate issue. My truck was making a light "tinney/jingley" sound at idle, and rolling into it in OD it would clang like a bunch of loose sockets in a drawer. Turns out it was the torque converter. What converter are you running?

PI ML. I was dicking around with on the highway trying to mimic the sound and now it does that sound always. At idle to high throttle. Pulled off and still couldnt see any soot anywhere under the hood. My dad thinks its an exhaust leak but I don't know if a leak would sound the same on an n/a engine and a turboed?? I'll upload a walk around video of the engine at idle I just made.

Could be exhaust, is it possible that you're leaking compression from around an injector or something? Could that also explain your balance rates or did you get that sorted?
Edit: You beat me to it.

have you taken a pipe and listened on one side and put the other end of the pipe where you think the sound is coming from? It could atleast help you pin point the general area.

That is a loose injector/copper washer on bottom. On my old LLY i had this EXACT same thing happen a couple times. Im sure if you look close enough you will see smoke puffing out around the injectors. All i did was pull the injector sand the copper washer and slap a new oring on it and good to go:thumb:

Thats what I'm hoping it is. Do not want to be pulling any uppipes thats forsure. I put anti seize on every exhaust fasterner, but still a pain. When yours was leaking compression past the copper, was the holddown very loose, like finger loose? Reckon I better get a copper on order.
