Our axles are 2" diameter plus texture/powder coat.

I clean over 300 and couldn't hit 200 with that hog, for reference.

Umm yea lol. 2" is thick bar.

Isn't a normal bar 1"? The thicker one at our gym is 1.25 I believe, and I'm good for 25 more pounds on it

28mm is standard of Oly bars. That's just shy of 1-1/8".
I think some powerlifting feds allow 29mm as long as you use the same on all lifts at that meet. I've also seen some 27mm bars for deads. It feels weird; women's bars are 25mm, so even a 27mm is noticeable.

I would bet the bar you have at the gym is an old school deadlift training bar.

Right shoulder has a dinger in it from heavy spoto press's a few weeks ago... Taking it easy on it with bench and over head work, lighter weight and more reps.

Those corn fed fellers don't need a set or rep scheme, they just grab shit and make it move, work with a quite a few guys like that, makes me mad, takes me two hours to get my lower back loosened up enough to tie my damn boots.

What's your set/rep scheme and so on?

I keep it simple start with 135 x 6 just to move it then 185 x 6 225 x 6 275 x 6 then rep 315 for whatever I can and if I'm feeling strong with 315 I'll go heavy and if not or my body is sore I'll drop back and do 3-4 sets with 225 for 16 then move to incline but stop around 275 on that due to a bad right shoulder.

That's a lot of Sets! How long are you in the gym for? Do you just do a day of chest?

Cool, i'm always curious what others are doing and getting results. It's interesting to me how the human body works and how we all respond to training differently:thumb:

I think Evan splits that up from how I read it.
315 for reps or he goes up from there if feeling good. Banged up or sore is 225 for multiple sets of 16.

Fail City today. I can get 365 off of the ground but I can't hold on. My grip isn't there. 350 moved pretty easy and I was psyched for a new 1rm at 370. Dropped it twice as soon as I get it near my knees.

I NEED help guys! What should I buy? Straps or hooks? Give me a link to something high quality and I'll order right now. :D My grip is holding me back. Yinz haven't steered me wrong yet!
