I daily drive an 80mm. I tested a sealed intake and ram air. Don’t talk about something you don’t know about.

Yep. No idea. I also run a 80 with two 72s next to it. But please keep schooling me. I'll let my track times do the talking. Oh. Not to mention on a street truck where I'm at stop light to stop light.

HSP is not a open airbox btw.. I figured a pro like you would know that. Have a nice day. :baby:

I don’t have anything to add here other then I wouldn’t install anything made by wherli fab even if it was given to me. Absolute crap and even worse customer service.

I would call that an intake "shield" moreso than an intake "box".
I mean, it would help but not completely separate the intake from underhood hot air.
Isnt that the reason you buy a CAI in the first place? If not, then whats the point? That would go for any aftermarket intake, too....

Kind of hijacking but really curious. Does anyone else besides wc fab make a turbo kit that uses the wagler intake manifold instead of a y-bridge, and not through custom ordering?

Using your logic the S&B isn't an airbox either. It has a hole in the bottom to suck air from beneath by removing the airbox tray.

It in reality is an airbox. It doesn't make a 100% tight seal to the front of the vehicle (behind the headlight). HSP intended this so that when you pull the headlight it actually helps (Unlike with a S&B intake that has a solid front facing wall).

The "box" also has an open bottom so you can remove the airbox tray and let it suck air from there.

If I can keep my truck I’ll probably be doing an s&b with the front cut out and the scoop in the bottom. Haven’t found much on the scoop. That is unless I go full high flow kit for one of marks VGT’s

For what its worth, I had an S&B on my LLY with a Danville 68mm Stage 2R 4094 (high flow vanes ect).

On the dyno the best we could get was 632hp hot (655 cold, not Marks dyno BTW) while holding rail ect. We pulled the air filter (was cleaned 2 days before) and instantly jumped to 674hp hot without tuning adjustments. The S&B filter IMO leaves alot to be desired for THEIR airbox.

HSP (I believe) uses S&B filters BUT its not the standard filter you get in a S&B intake kit, it is much larger and has more surface area.

I have had nothing but a great experience from WCFAB, Jason has always been great on the phone and the fitment of his compound kits are top notch, sorry you had a bad experience with him.
