waterpump??

i hate to have to ask this but, i just did my waterpump and ive noticed a slight whine sort of noise. its hard to describe really, at idle i can barely hear it and around 1k i can hear it pretty well. if i bring it past 1k engine and turbo noise drown it out.

i pulled the belt off and let it run to make sure it wasnt any of the other acc. or idlers and the sound is still there. when i got the pump i spun it and it spun smooth, nothing out of the ordinary. im a very paraniod person and i dont like things not running right.

possibly a bad pump or should i just drive it some more?
