I've heard that for a diesel you should buy a cooler rated for at least twice the HP you are running. Is this true?

Also the one I found that would fit where I want has 4" inlet/outlet. Would it be ok to run 3" intercooler tubes to and from the cooler with the proper reducers?

Thanks
Jesse

Yes it will work fine. I run a frozen boost 2000hp cooler with 3-4" reducers on the inlet and outlet. Make sure you have a good water pump. The small rule pumps are much too small. I run a stewartwarner 55gpm pump on my set up a little pricy but it works great!

I just have the intercooler. My ice box is part of my weight box. The supplied ice box from them is tiny. You would be lucky to get 1 bag of ice it. You need to be able to hold between 6 and 8 bags of ice to affevtively cool the intercooler.

Chiseled racing makes an awesome product, that is more costly than the frozen boost units, but not near as costly as most good set ups.
