Ignition that is too advanced will really spike CP's with no added power, even a slight decrease. Things that advance ignition (requiring retard compensation) are high boost, high IAT,
I have conditional retard built into my tunes, one for IAT rise I think is important. I never see timing over 20, but then I am a bit conservative compared to many. .
