How did you fix the problems? Looks like maybe you welded an LB7/LLY water inlet onto an LBZ/LMM water pump housing so that you can use an LBZ/LMM water pump on an LB7/LLY.

Is the impeller and gear welded? Doesnt look like it in the pic. Thats an awful lot of money for a pump.

so other then the gear or impeller slipping what is the problem on the lb7/lly pump?

lly's suffer from overheating issues. gm was to a point of putting on 06+cooling systems to avoid buybacks.

I often wondered how much difference the pump would make, this makes me suspect it may be quite a bit.

so the LBZ pumps dont have the spinning gear issue??? It looks like all you did was weld a smaller LB7/LLY outlet onto an LBZ/LMM pump.

To be honest tony (and I dont mean any offense), if im going to spend $460 on a pump, I would probably want to know what was done to it, not just "oh this one is better". I can put almost 5 "lifetime warranty" Advance Auto pumps on my truck for the cost of one DHD pump, FWIW. Im all for spending lots of money on a good quality part to fix a certain known issue (im not just cheap for the sake of being cheap).....but before I spend the extra money, I like to know what im buying.

Oh well yeah I knew about that issue, just didn't the pump had much to do with it.

No its not welded. It dont need to be.

so the LBZ pumps dont have the spinning gear issue??? It looks like all you did was weld a smaller LB7/LLY outlet onto an LBZ/LMM pump. It is a moded LBZ factory pump.

Hey Ben nice to hear from you... Been waiting for that return call or pm or Email from six months ago... This is a fix and if you want to keep changing lifetime pumps that leave you stranded on the side of the road thats ok with me. We have done the testing and found the correct pump to mod and we do the mods so its ready to bolt on. I cant seem to get my guys to work for free yet so the price is what it is.

Hey Ben, i would like to buy one of your gizmos but first can you give me a schematic and tell me exactly what and how you built it?

Tony
Have you found any issues with the electric pumps at high RPM? Im curious to know if there is issues with cooling and if people are finding its not circulating enough water?

To be honest i would like to do exstensive testing on the electric for everyday use. I have sold many electric kits and only know of one person that had issues but he has had issues with every thing he has done so im not sure if its the pump. I have used the electric kit myself for years with not one issue and it was run hard. How high you talking?

So everone knows... if you go get any lbz pump and put it on there good luck because there is a 75 percent chance it will fail...

What are the chances of your pump failing? What kind of guaranty do you carry? I'm just trying to figure out all the data here, 75% failure rate do you have the sample size of trucks with LBZ pumps that failed 3/4? 15/20? 75/100?
