I tend to get myself into more s$#t. I have a customer/friend who just bought a turbo kit for a honda. The installation should be fairly simple but I need help with the gate. The place he bought it from said to hook it to manifold vacuum. I have seen and he is asking about tapping the turbo housing by the outlet for the source to the wastegate. I am not sure which would be better as I have never dealt with a wastegate yet. Anyone know the best place to put it? He's only running 6psi (thats kind funny when you read it, we are used to way more) anyways, so its not alot but I know 8 to 10psi and he blows up his only transpo.

They are usually tapped about two inches back from the compressor outlet. The elbow that you use for tapping should come from the turbo manufacture or use their recommendation. Some turbo companies use special ones to allow for their boost tuning parameters. Hope this helps.

Is it wastegate or blow off-valve? You use boost pressure to drive wastegate and manifold vacuum to drive blow off.

Larry , I have never done a gasser turbo setup but it should be no different IMOp , The wastegate should be installed in the exhaust system befor the turbine , so when it opens it releives drive pressue / turbine flow and slow the turbo down so it doesnt make more than what you want the boost to be . The ones i am familiar with use a 2 part formula to open, using boost and drive pressure. you can adjust boost with an air regulator and drive pressure you swap out springs inside the wastegate to adjust the tension on the diaphram . I have never installed one or tuned one so that is as much info as i can give , you but hope it helps .

I would take the signal pressure from the compressor discharge, as having it on the vacuum side of the throttle is gonna play havock on the actuator IMO.
