I will try to keep this short. I build transmissions for local guys now for the past 5 years. Have worked at an Allison distributor for the past 10. I am aware of the resent threads that have went down hill because of guys getting paid to do a job then asking questions on the forum. So I am not going to ask a question but just make aware of something I have seen twice now in two weeks. Trans 1. built 5 speed nothing crazy ,drop in GPZ pressure mods. Trans go. Tripple disk, just mild build. Built trans 10 months ago comes back for wanting to push though brakes at a stop. I confirm in reverse you let off brakes and the tires will spin without touching throttle. Went through trans looked good sent converter out said they found bad sprag and freshened it up. Install trans same thing no change. Pull back out send converter out they said it's perfect. Install a converter I had on the shelf all is fine. Put suspect converter in other truck after I had them upgrade it to billet stator and it's fine. Trans 2 stock six speed and came in same symptoms.Pull trans, converter is purple from heat. Go through trans freshen up with new clutch s transgo and customer supplied Reckon stock converter. Reinstall in truck same symptoms pushes through brake at Idle will spin tires in gravel just letting off brake. I ordered new billet single disk to put in will be here Friday. I have to assume new converter failures being the cause but converter place says it is a leak in lockup circuit dragging lockup .

Why are people still using the Transgo converter flow valve? We've showed everyone how to modify a stock one and it's free.
As far as converters; anything but a Goerend or Suncoast is unacceptable IMHO.

The transgo hot rod valve was not used in either of these transmissions. I agree with you Mike after having to push an pull transmissions on my dime I will not be using anything but those two.

I have rebuilt 2 stock 6 speeds that did the same thing as you described. The problem with both of these trucks were the torque converters.

My truck is currently dragging the converter I believe. Still chasing some gremlins right now to conclude diagnosis.

I bypassed the cooler with no change. I swapped converters and got truck 2 put together yesterday ,all is good. I must just have awesome luck with two bad converters out of the box.
