Help: Wanted 09 allison tcm

WANTED 09 ALLISON TCM

The latest batch of LMM's to roll off the line contain a new generation Allison TCM.

Over the last 4-6 weeks we've received a couple of requests for support, however without a TCM to develop support from we are unable to commence development.

We've been through our usual channels without sucess, and GM spare parts won't sell these UNLESS it's a swap over.

Is anyone able to source on of these TCM's for us? Preferably we'd like to purchase one (or two) outright and keep it for development purposes.

We do know the Part# is 25978353

thats an ECM, TCMs are unavail. thru them...

Ross has already tried to obtain the latest TCM's through Chris @ ecuoutlet, but he hasn't been able to source any.

The only way we are going to get a TCM in the short term is if *someone* has a contact with a dealer that will allow an outright purchase without a return.

I can say with relative certainty that you won't find one for sale online, but I'd be happy for someone to prove me wrong!

I am in pretty good with my dealer, and get wholesale and buy alot of diesel parts.I might be able to get 1 or 2 have to see. It might also help since I work for GM worth a try.

new stuff to support torque limiting and other control needed by the stabilitrak thats standard on 09+ dmax's??

Thank you very much - the sooner we can get hold of TCM's the sooner we can offer support.

We do know that the new TCM has more memory, and that it's a new OS and that the mapping is different, but that's about all we know. We won't know anything else (particularly what additional tables exist) until we can start to dissect one.

We'll have someone contact both dealers and see what we can arrange.

I talked to the parts manager. He said that they are on restriction. He is going to call them tomorrow and see if he can get one. Maybe a couple of 09 trucks will get the TCM stolen :secret:

Surely there has to be a way to order one. I am sure they get damaged in accidents all the time.

Thank-you GMDuramax.....it's only expensive when you convert the cost into NZ dollars, the current exchange rate effectively doubles the cost

To everyone else who offered - thankyou very much for assisting us. At this stage we'll hold off on sourcing a second ECM (due to cost) and see if Ross and Paul really need one each.
