OK what type of walmart 2 stroke oil is everyone running. There were two types.

One is a universal 2 stroke for what looks like smaller engines. I could only find this in an 8oz container.

The second is for outboard 2 strokes. It was tc-w3 = (two cycle water cooled) ashless.

So, which one should I use? Thanks.

Idle Chatter (Tom) recommended 1/2oz per gallon. Every fill-up.

I currently use Power Service Diesel Fuel Supplement + Cetane Boost. Do you recommend to use both at the same time or just one?

I use a little bit of both in the winter, probably wasting money though, that power service adds up quick....

So when you say a little bit of both do you mean half and half? And your right, the power service does add up quick but I would rather pay for the power service than a truck repair any day.

I used the walmart stuff in the gallon jug. It made a noticeable noise difference if nothing else. I ran a 20oz bottle to a full tank. so a little less than an oz. per gallon.

Was given some Force Fuel additive so I've been using that. It's not any more quiet and the first tank hasn't help mileage a lick. But's its supposed to be some super duper stuff. LOL.

does it really affect the truck at all? ive heard of people using tranny fluid before?

From what I have read, The transmission fluid has different additives that are not very friendly to our fuel systems. (CP3, Injectors, etc) Mike may very well be correct on it being fairy dust, But I did at one time, (a year ago) have a surge at idle that would come and go. It has not come back since I started running the power service. I dont measure either the power service or the 2 stroke when I mix it. I always fill up when I stop, but I first dump about 1/3rd bottle of TW3 (8oz) in and then 1/4 bottle of power service (100g mix) and then fill her up.

I ran Stanadyne Performance, truck seemed to run a little better. I just tried the wal mart 2 cycle oil, and I have gon through gallon already (yes that many fillups) The truck runs a shit ton quieter when it is in there. No more injector ticking at idle after about the firt run of it. I stopped running it in the last 2 tanks because I hadent had a chance to go get more, and the truck is back to it old loud self again.

I highly recomend it, for a quieter engine. I would say it might run a little smmother too, but hard to tell. Mileage stayed about the same with the stanadyne. Oh an a touch more smoke sometimes it seems like. I run about 20oz. per 36 gallon fill up or so.

You can get a gallon for like 10 bucks, I suggest giving it a shot, I bet 9 times out of 10 on the second tank you will notice something. And if you stop using it, you will for sure notice it, cause you hear all kinds of noises again

I run Primrose when I remember to pour it in. It does give me an extra kick that I can feel. Nothing else that I tried ever did that.
I removed my fuel tank at 50K to change fuel gauge unit and to my suprise you could eat of the bottom of the tank it was so clean. Only noticed that the rod holding the float was rusty.

i run a quart of that tw3 walmart stuff every fill up and it has helped my balance rates some. I did a mild test (still some variables that i didnt account for but close enough for me) with runnin the truck on straight diesel this summer for a month and my highest balance rate was 2.5. ran that 2 stroke oil every fill up for a month and retested and they dropped to 2.0. Not a whole lot of difference but still some. need to check where they are now.

Checkin balance rates is like checkin your bank account in this economy, you scared to see whats in there and if you have anything left. :D

Test was made at with 1/2 tank, operating temp at 180, used same station for fill ups, and used same scanner for checkin rates.

I run 16oz of tcw3 and 16 oz of diesel kleen to 34 gallons about every month or so. I know it stopped my idle surge, but it probably has not helped with injectors or anything else.
