What do you need to know?

Basically any feedback would be helpful. Any failures, how are they holding up, how much gain and how do you like them. I was going to go with a stg2 SoCal head but I think in my application something more aggressive would suit me better. It's ALOT of $$$ to dump so just wanting to gather thoughts from those that are using them. Thanks.

Basically every single set in heavy competition cracked before the new HIP process. Jeremy stood behind them and helped everyone out on them, but Brodix told him too bad, its racin'. So Wagler ate all of those. They have since switched to a new casting facility overseas(he would have liked to keep it here but could not) that has yet to be proven as well. Since Jeremy owns all his own core boxes he can have anyone capable cast them for them, at his discretion. There are not any in use currently from the new foundry. Still in testing. The Brodix-cast ones are still available if you need water jacketed sets. They must have produced major amounts of those.

There is also the billet versions from Wagler, either iron or alu. Not what you're considering i'm sure, as these will require custom exhaust manifolds, intake, etc.

On edit: There should not be any non-HIP available and i am not aware of any Brodix ones cracking that were cast with the new HIP process.

Damn, disappointing to here. Thanks for the info though. And yea don't want billet I still want to run water so I can put it on the street when I want. It is going to be a dedicated drag truck but still want the option to street the truck when I want to, I had a 1992 Chevy sport with a 454BB years ago that was deducted track truck and it was just not as fun not being able to street it. Thanks for all the info again. Hoping some more people will chime in.

Guess that came out super negative? In a nutshell, the initial process led to cracking. Jeremy got everyone a new set with the new process(HIP), which seems to be reliable with no help from Brodix. Split with Brodix but the new ones are yet to be released. Wagler has Brodix cast HIP ones still in stock(no solid ones though).

Definitely every truck that runs Wagler heads makes serious power given their respective class, but these trucks would also make great power on a set of Socal stg 2's as well. It's just getting that extra little bit that people are willing to try them out.

Don't be discouraged though. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy anything wagler puts out. They make top quality products and when shit happens they are stand up guys and do more than their share to make it right.

Gotcha yea it did kinda lol. But yea most of my motor is SoCal parts but I am looking for that extra edge that's why I'm leaning toward the wagler heads

Hi, I am new here, but I'd like to know if the billet Wagler heads are true billet, and are they solid, no water jackets?

Thanks.

Wagler billet heads are true billet. They may be available with water but I doubt it. To my knowledge, they will not accept stock bolt pattern intake and exhaust manifolds either.
Cast wagler heads are available with water jackets for sure and will accept everything as if they were stock.

Aussie Duramax, What is your goals/setup if you don't mind my asking? These heads are top shelf!

Drag racing and possible Salt Lake attempt.

I would have thought diesel would require water jacketing around the injector and exhaust valves due to cylinder temps?

I swung by wagler last month to BS.. definitely like to throw set of their entry-level heads on and put some mileage on them.. last time I check new bares between gm and wagler wasn't much different in cost like 10-15% difference

That would be one heluva durability test!
