I screwed up when telling them what class I wanted to run with the locals. And they put me in the modified class or I told them modified. One way or the other I was the only Duramax at the whole damn pull so I had to make a good showing. I ended up coming in 2nd place, 2ft off the winner. I wasn't even hanging weights or set up like I should have been. And we had to pull on a short track. Iirc it didn't even go out over 200ft, so not just a whole lot of time to catch some momentum. And the winning POS cummins was about 1klbs or so heavier than me and power wise I'm not so sure.

ya i would have to say i was confused for a sec. when i saw this post. our gustine is in central california but your gustine looks like it had a better track ours sucked

Our gustine pulls! The sled was set way too hard out of the hole, for almost all of the classes. They were running two sleds toward each other on a 15' wide track. I limped (p0087) right out of the gate, looks like I need to pull some fuel out for a sled tune. I guess the RPM is what is getting me.
