Fleece mentioned something about boost also. I tried it on one of my lower settings and it goes right past 100 with no problem with boost about 30-35 lbs, when on my big tune it is about 40-45 lbs when it happens. I need to get a log of it happening but right now EFI and my ECM aren't getting along so I can't do any logging or put in a new tune. I'm working with EFI Live support trying to get it straightened out.

a little in/out is ok but up/down is bad... i just had an S371 in my hands the other day and there was next to NO up/down play

Not true.. In out (axial shaft play) should be less than .004 on most chargers. The radial end play can be as much as .010" on some turbos.

You push the wheel to the side and turn it and you're spinning the steel shaft against a bronze bushing with no lube, it's not going to spin freely. You shouldn't feel any grinding but resistance to movement is normal.

If you're worried about it, send it over and I'll throw new bearings in it for 250.00 plus shipping.
