Anyone tried the wave stopper gaskets? I was looking around at different gaskets and saw these listed. I guess they are still a MLS but with stamped in waves?

Just run the OEM factory head gaskets...they are proven, and they work....as far as I know, all of the other aftermarket head gaskets (mainly cometic) that people have tried have been failures.

Bring back this thread...

Anyone know how thick Grade C's are? Im looking into Victor Reinz 106mm, 1.05mm, and .95mm.

ASSuming grade C is the 1.05, just wanted to ask before I buy $130 of headgaskets..

the 106mm says "wave stopper" whatever that is... I want to use stock gaskets, no fel pro for me, but not sure which mm grade C is...

Why not use stock gaskets? Is there a headgasket problem im not aware of? Fel-pro is iffy, cometic has had failures... not much choices left other than stock C's..

The ones in my gasket kit were cheaper than ac delco iirc. If I'm mistaken and they were close to the same price I would agree and get the GM ones.

X2, I'm sticking the new "D" gaskets(decked and over bore) in my motor build to see how they are going to hold up.

Compressed gasket thickness is at the bottom on the far right side.

I have ran the Victor gaskets without any failures. They look identical to the OEM gasket.

Take a trip to your local dealer and ask for a grade c. The poor thing feels like a soda can falling apart nothing like the older grade c gaskets.

have you ever used them though? Ive got a bunch here and they feel fine to me.

I remember mark broviak saying hes used them in some big builds with no issues.

I used one of the new GM gaskets on my engine. I wasn't impressed when I bought it but after running it and tear down it held up fine. I initially tore it down the king that the new gasket had failed but it was a cup issue. They are a pain to clean up. They leave copper coated residue on both the heads and block unlike the others that are easily cleaned up. So I think they will hold up fine.
