Does anyone bring their own supply of VHT to the track and spray all the tires down prior to a pass? I saw an N/A Corvette go from 1.44 60' to 1.42 60' by soaking both rear slicks in VHT took him from a 10.0x to a 9.95... just wondering if this is a common practice at a friendly track?

I've seen it done before. I use to ask when I raced bikes to let me go after the fast cars went as some of them got some extra vht sprayed before they ran. Worked really good for me then since they always let me. If your track is cool and you tell them you wanna set a new best I bet they would let you.

VHT, Track bite, etc. are traction aid compounds. They make the surface of the track/tire sticky and adhere togather better! Has a cherryish smell and often diluted with alcohol/methanol:D

.....Ive been racing too long:rofl:

Nother one you may see put on the track is "gold dust" or rosin. Its powdered tree sap basically. It can be sprinkled on and then melted in:thumb:
