I have an issue(s) with my LLY that I'm hoping you guys can help me with. It has absolutely NO power! It will go, just slowly.
I know I have an injector issue, balance rates are all over the place. I'm thinking #6 is plugged. It starts fine, but has an obvious miss. I deactivated each injector and all but #6 made an obvious difference in the idle quality
Balance rates:
1~-7.0
2~-7.0
3~-4.2
4~-7.0
5~+0.8
6~+15.0
7~-7.0
8~-7.0
Then the actual FRP is around 9,200 psi where the desired is about half that???
I decided to do a compression test to rule out ant serious internal issues and was pleased from what I've read about them. I didn't do #1 because it was a little more difficult to get out and the #5 glow plug was stuck, so it wasn't checked either.
Results:
#1~hard to get to
#2~406
#3~400
#4~401
#5~Stuck glow plug...
#6~400
#7~401
#8~409
The engine is bone stock other than a Kodiak LBZ mouth piece, 4" mandrel exhaust and slight modification of the air filter housing and duct work to get in this truck. I have removed the EGR system (which may be helping the problem), replaced the boost sensor ( I believe, had to be replaced because the white wire pack coming out of the original was detached when I got it) and the glow plug module (? drivers side of turbo), but the glow plugs have stopped working right again. I have used most all of the stock LLY harness, the ECM, TCM, FICM, BCM, cluster, fuel lines and sending unit. I bought this engine about 5 years ago and it has sat for most of that until the last year when it has been started a few times.
It's obvious that I have an injector issue and I am assuming a FPR issue, but will those be enough to make an LLY in an S10 accelerate like it has a Geo Metro engine in it????
